Western School of Science and Technology CFA in Phoenix, AZ is seeking Math Interventionist for 2015–16

The Math Interventionist is recruited, selected, hired, evaluated by and reports to the School Director. The primary responsibilities of the Math Interventionist are to deliver high-quality, targeted instruction to students in the Title I Program, and manage the math aspects of the Title I Program, including data analysis and reporting.

The following are the primary responsibilities of the Math Interventionist:

  • Design and carry out daily lesson plans for students in the Title I Math program
  • Administer regular assessments and monitor student progress
  • Manage the math aspects of the Title I program, including data analysis and reporting requirements
  • Manage Title I Math Paraprofessional(s)
  • Provide support for staff with math instruction
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities
  • Participate in professional development
  • Tutor students as needed
  • Supervise after school events

The following are the critical skills, beliefs, and experiences requisite of an effective Math Interventionist at Western CFA:

  • Strong and demonstrated commitment to the school’s mission, vision, and core values
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in education or a comparable field
  • Middle Grades Mathematics endorsement or willingness to take test immediately to become Highly Qualified
  • Arizona Highly Qualified status (college degree, passed ADE-approved math test)
  • Valid Arizona teacher certification with SEI endorsement
  • Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Superior knowledge of education laws and regulations
  • Demonstrates taking personal ownership for his or her own development; growth mindset
  • Preference will be given to individuals who have experience working in the target community or in a demographically-similar community and prior experience in a similar role

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Starting annual salary of $42,000–$46,800.

*100% of employee medical, dental, and vision monthly premiums covered; 50% of dependent medical, dental, and vision monthly premiums covered.  Qualification for 3% employer-match safe harbor 401(k).
